The Sketched Silhouette Portrait

Hand-Illustrated Silhouette Portraits – Timeless – An heirloom to be treasured for years to come.  

An original creation of AFPS.  We take the classic silhouette and transform it into a modern & more detailed Portrait.  Using your photo as our guide, we hand draw each one with layers and layers of shading and detailing.  Sketch lines are kept where we layout the facial features. Modern yet classic!  All of this is what you can expect of our Sketch Design.

The color palette we use is a mixture of blacks, grays, and whites.  Your print will be carefully made using archival inks and 100% cotton rag fine art paper.  The print has a lightly textured soft gloss surface that makes our drawings look amazing.

All custom Silhouettes will come with one proof and round of simple revisions prior to printing.  Please keep in mind that while we are known for drawing our portraits accurately, there does need to be room for artistic interpretation.

Each silhouette will be printed individually based on the size you choose.  If you would like multiple children on the same print, still select the number of illustrations and just let us know you would like them as a "family print."

Tips for a great profile photo:

• A resting face or one that shows big expression look great in this art.
• We should ONLY see one eye/eyebrow - meaning the face needs to be fully turned sideways.
• Is the photo showing the ENTIRE face, head/hair, neck area?
• Are you happy with how the hair looks?
• Is the photo taken during the day with good lighting?

Prints do not come with frames. You can add a frame to your order by adding this listing to your cart.

Please note: As of February 2021 we now print our portraits in house using professional fine art paper and archival inks.  While there is not a huge difference once hung up, you still may notice a difference in the whiteness of the paper if you hang a new silhouette next to one we printed for you in the past. If you would like to purchase re-prints of previously made silhouettes on this new paper please let us know and we would be happy to give you a discount.
